Bright Minds Institute News, Media Releases, Parent Testimonials
Summer 2009 TED Talk (TEDxIndia) by Bright Minds Institute EEG technician Aditi Shankardass discusses our clinical application of the BEAM (Brain Electrical Activity Mapping) Database and DEEP (Digital EEG and Evoked Potentials) Assessment testing created and perfected by Dr. Frank Duffy, M.D. of Harvard Medical School/ Children's Hospital Boston.
Dr. Fernando Miranda, M.D., F.A.A.N., and clinic staff at Bright Minds Institute have utilized the BEAM-DEEP system since 2003. Includes excerpts of Spring 2008 ABC News/Good Morning America double feature about Bright Minds Institute (see below).
"Dr. Miranda.....both Pam and I thank you for what you have done for our son. I am sure that you remember Soren, at the age of two he had no language, no social skills at all, but after getting a proper diagnosis and treatment, his language exploded (two languages, actually). Today he is a very happy 7 year old boy, extremely social, learning new things every day, and we can only thank you and Bright Minds for bringing our little boy back. When he speaks to me in perfect Danish (extremely difficult language to learn), I cannot help thinking about how far he has come in such a short time. So thanks to you and your wonderful staff, you bring hope to children like Soren."

"We saw Dr. Miranda on "Good Morning America," were lucky enough to get an appointment with him, and have never looked back. Prior to coming to Dr. Miranda, we had taken our son to several "experts" and clinics - and not one doctor we saw even bothered to perform a medical examination; with either a quick diagnosis or no diagnosis at all, the most we were told was to enroll him in the programs available through our school district and county. Without Dr. Miranda's expertise, we would never have discovered that he was having seizures - and he would never have received the treatment that has allowed him to blossom.
"Finally, I wanted to pass on to you that Connor has been doing very well recently; in fact, just yesterday he spent the day with us in San Francisco, going down the Embarcadero for his favorite lunch (seafood, especially crab!) and attending a Giants game! Just a short while ago, he would have been far too anxious to have tolerated all the noise and excitement of the City and the game -- yesterday, he thoroughly enjoyed himself - even joining his twin sister for the "kids run the bases" after the game. We just want to tell you how grateful we are for the care he has received from you -- he would never have been able to do this -- let alone enjoy it! -- without Dr. Miranda and your office!"
Thanks so much,
